Long Island
Approved Umpires Association, established in 1945, has been
serving the Long Island baseball/softball community for over
60 years. We are LI's oldest Umpiring organization. Working
primarily in Nassau county we also service parts of Queens
and Suffolk. Our season starts in April and run through
August, plus Fall baseball on weekends in Sept/October. We
are the exclusive assignor for Connie Mack in Nassau County.
In addition, we cover games for FABL, MSBL, and many town
leagues and tournaments from Valley Stream to Copiague. We
have an excellent working relationship with these leagues
mainly because they can be assured our officials will be at
every game scheduled, doing a quality, professional job. The
game fees for 2007 will be between $57 and $65.

NJBL (National Junior Baseball League)
has games in the Spring, Summer, and Fall for players from
the ages of 8 to 18. We cover all of Nassau and Suffolk
counties, but always try to keep umpires as close to home as
possible. The vast majority of our games are doubleheaders.
We also service many outside leagues in the area. We have
enough work for everyone for all three seasons. We have
added softball to our association. The only cost to join
covers the necessary insurance and is $70.00. You would have
to purchase a shirt and hat. After that, there are no fees
at all (no assigner's fee). You keep what you make. If you
have any questions or are interested in joining, please
e-mail Craig Roberts at Craigcsr@aol.com. If there is a
roster spot available, he will let you know.
